The Bharatiya Janata Party was formed in the year 1980. It is one of the major party in the Indian political system. It is known as BJP in short name. BJP is the second largest political party in India, first being the congress in terms of representation in Parliament and other assemblies. The party’s philosophy is Integral Humanism. It has been labeled as Hindu nationalist by many.
BJP formed government along with NDA in 1998 to 2004 and Atal Bihari Vajpayee was elected as Prime Minister. In 2004 they got defeated in the general election and from that time onward BJP has been the principal opposition party in Parliament.
BJP was always seen supporting the national defense policy. They felt that the policy need to be made strong which includes modernization of India’s armed force and nuclear power. During the tenure of Atal vihar Bajpai, India saw 5 nuclear test and also test of multiple ballistic missile test.It was during that time order was give to Indian armed force to kick out Pakistani intruders from Kashmir. The war took place for months and was known as Kargil war.
