UGC NET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality

 All applicants for the CBSE UGC NET 2023 application must be Indian permanent citizenship

Age Limit

 The candidates ‘ age should not exceed 30 years when they serve as JRF candidates. However, reserved category candidates can demand age relaxation in accordance with the rules. The post of assistant professor has no higher age limit.

Educational Qualification

  • At least the candidates for the MSc or the equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities should have scored 55 % aggregate marks.
  • Those who complete their Master’s degree and waiting for the results can also request the examination.
  • A 5 % relief in aggregate marks will also be granted to holders whose master’s exam has been completed by 19 September 1991.
  • Only in the subject of its postgraduate degree should the candidates appear. Those whose subject is not mentioned by the authority after graduation shall appear for the subject concerned.
  • The equivalence of diploma/certificate and Master’s Degree in recognized Indian Universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) should be established by candidates with post-graduate diplomas and/or certificates awarded by Indian Unipolar Institute, Foreign Degree / Diploma / Certificate by the Institute.

UGC NET 2023 Schedule for Examination:

  • UGC NET Application December 2023 available for Test on December 2023 Sunday
  • I test will be of 100 marks containing 60 questions out of which candidate must attempt 50. Exam duration will be for 1¼ Hours i.e. from 9.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.
  • I test will be of 100 marks comprises of 50 compulsory questions for the duration of 1¼ Hours i.e. from 10.45 A.M. to 12.00 noon
  • III test will be of 150 marks containing 75 obligatory questions for the duration of 2 and a half hour i.e. from 1.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.

UGC NET 2023 Application Form:

  • Only the official website of the university for applicants will provide application forms in online mode.
  • Applicants must register and choose the subject and role they apply for.
  • Some basic information (name, gender, parent’s name, mobile number, E-mail address, birth date, mailing name, permanent name, etc), certain educational details (Post-Study exam, post-Study status, University name, Post-Stolerance, MPhil and D. status, etc) must be entered after a successful registration.
  • The applicant must correctly complete the above details, as false information in the form leads to a refusal of the form.
  • After that, candidates must upload some required photographs and signatures scanned by the documents.
  • The candidate instructed to upload the images as indicated on the official website in the format and the dimensions.
  • Afterward, applicants must pay the request fee and submit the request form before the due date.

Application Fee:

  • If applicants belong to the general class, they must pay Rs 1000/- as a fee for applications.
  • Rs 500/- must be paid as an application fee for applicants in the OBC category.
  • Candidates belonging to a reserved category such as SC, ST and PWD have to pay Rs 250/- as an admission examination application fee.
  • In online mode, application charges may be paid by credit card, net banking or debit card.
  • Upon the submission of the application fee, applicants shall save a copy of the system-generated confirmatory page.

Teaching and Research Aptitude: People and environment, research aptitude, communication, logical reasoning, ICT, data interpretation, higher education system, Teaching aptitude, reading comprehension, etc.
History: Ancient Indian history, history of modern India, Basic concepts, ideas and terms, medieval Indian history, world history, etc.
Political Science: Indian government and politics, comparative politics, world politics, public administration, International relations, Political theory, and thoughts, etc.
Philosophy: Modern Indian thinkers, modern western philosophy, Classical Indian philosophy, etc.
Economics: Planning and development, public finance, Indian economy, statistical methods, Microeconomics, Macro-economics, etc.
Law: Labour Law, Legal Theory, Law of Crimes, Constitutional Law of India, Public International Law, Family Law, Law of Torts, etc

UGC NET 2023 Syllabus for Paper I and Paper II:-

Paper-I of UGC NET 2023  generic nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the students. This paper will test the candidate’s knowledge in reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness.
Paper-II of UGC NET 2023  will contain various topics from the subjects selected by the candidates. The topics will be related to Bachelors and Masters’s level syllabus.

Pattern 2023:

Exam pattern for UGC NET 2023 given below:

  • Mode of examination: Online (computer).
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours (1 hour for paper-I and 2 hours for paper-II).
  • Question Type: Type of objective(multiple choice type questions).
  • Number of papers: Two i.e. Paper-I (General) and Paper-II (Subject-specific).
  • Number of Questions: 150 questions( 50 in paper I and 100 in paper II
  • Scheme for marking: 2 marks for correct response will be awarded.
  • Negative marking: Not applicable

Admit card:

  • By visiting the official NTA website, candidates can download the UGC NET 2023 Admit Card.
  • Downloading the Hall ticket –
    • 1) via application number, password and
    • 2) via application number and date of birth
  • The details printed on the admission card should be thoroughly examined, and the authorities should be informed without further delay if discrepancies are found.
  • For further use, candidates must take an imprinted copy of the admit card and keep it secure.
  • The candidates must bring the admission card into the examination hall or otherwise the authority will not be permitted to take the test.
  • A valid ID proof and PWD certificate (where applicable) with hall ticket must also be carried by candidates.

Result:

  • The UGC NET 2023 results from the NTA website can be reviewed by the candidates.
  • It is very likely that the results will be announced some weeks after the exam begins.
  • On its website, NTA will also publish the answer key. Candidates can challenge the answer key on payment of Rs. 1000/- per question.
  • In order to pass the test, the applicants must score the NTA’s minimum cut-off marks.
  • During the UGC NET examination, applicants can apply for the JRF position or an assistant professor at different colleges and universities.

Cut Off:

After the entrance test, the authority will publish the UGC NET 2023 Cut Off online. For the students successfully securing cutoff marks, a separate category wise and theme wise merit list will be drawn.
