Raksha Bandhan was the most awaited film of Akshay Kumar. Audience had great expectations from the movie however, film was a flop. In fact, it is Akshay Kumar’s third flop at the box Office. 

Akshay Kumar’s heartwarming tale of Raksha Bandhan failed to impress his fans with most awaited Raksha Bandhan.

Unfortunatley, it became his consecutive third flop after movies like Bachchhan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj.

Director Aanand L Rai, released this family drama in theatres on August 11. 

The film was made with the budget of more than Rs 70 crore. 

The first day collection was Rs. 8.20 crore, Rs. 6.40 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 6.51 crore on Day 3. 

The worst happened when movie collected around Rs. 7.50 crore on Sunday. 

As per the trade analysts, movie earned only Rs 28 crore on its opening weekend

Raksha Bandhan is a story of Lala Kedarnath (played by Akshay Kumar) who is struggling hard to get his four younger sisters married. 

Bhumi Pednekar portrayed Kumar’s on-screen love interest. 

The film is presented and distributed by Zee Studios in association with Akshay Kumar’s sister, Alka Hiranandani and Rai. 

It is backed by Kumar’s Cape of Good Films along with Colour Yellow Productions
