Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality

An Indian National must be the candidate. Where the Central Government gives the written permission of subjects of Nepal or Bhutan citizens for their appointment, enrolment or employment regulations, applicants from those nations are eligible for CAPF 2023 from UPSC.

Gender

Approval for the assistant commanders is available for both male and female applicants.

Education Qualification
  • The applicants must receive a Bachelor’s degree from a government-recognized university as a portion of UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria. A Central or State Legislature Act in India should be integrated into the University.
  • Additional education organizations created by a Parliamentary Act, or declared to be a university, are also acceptable in accordance with section 3 of the Act of the 1956 Grants Commission.
  • Those applicants who have been tested and have not yet obtained their outcomes may also request the CAPF Exam. However, it is important to be aware that admittance is temporary until the applicant generates evidence that the exam passes after the CAPF entrance exam has been qualified.
Age Limit
  • The applicant must be at least 20 years of age. The candidate’s upper age limit shall be 25 years. But the maximum age limit for applicants in the SC / ST category up to a maximum of five years is relaxed.
  • The applicants of other backward classes can be relaxed for up to three years.
  • An Indian national must be the applicant who wants to apply for CAPF 2023. The CAPF examination may be submitted for both woman and male applicants. UPSC has various medical requirements for applying for the post via UPSC CAPF 2023

UPSC CAPF AC 2023 Application Form:

UPSC CAPF 2023 Exam pattern:

The exam of UPSC CAPF consists of both written and Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

Mode of Exam: This will be an offline pen-paper test with 2 papers.

Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests

Interview/ Personality Test

  • Candidates who are declared qualified in the tests of medical standards shall be required to conduct the UPSC interview/personality test.
  • The interview will carry 150 marks.
  • Interview and personality tests are provisional for applicants who have been declared to be medically unable but permitted to appear before the “Medical Review Board” upon their appeal by the Appellate Authority.
  • A detailed application form(DAF) in which they are required to indicate their preference for forces shall be issued amongst candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview/personality test, including those temporarily for the interview/personality trial.

UPSC CAPF AC 2023 Syllabus:

The UPSC CAPF 2023 examination includes four phases in the recruitment process. The curriculum is provided in two sections for the written examination. Each part has 1 document. This implies that there are 2 papers in 2 components; part 1 of paper 1 and part 2 of paper 2.

UPSC CAPF 2023 – Paper I: ( Total questions – 200; Total Marks – 250; Duration – 2 hours)

General Ability and Intelligence: Under this subject, 6 topics will be covered and objective type multiple choice question will be asked.
General Mental Ability: Questions are intended to test the logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, numerical ability, and data interpretation ability.
General Science: General awareness of science, scientific temper, knowledge, and importance of scientific experiments of everyday observation including new areas of importance like IT, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.
Current Events of National and International Importance: The questions will test the candidates’ awareness of current events of national and international level the fields of governance, globalization, business, industry, sports, culture, arts, literature, sports, and music.
Indian Polity and Economy: The questions target is to test candidates’ knowledge about Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, social life and public administration, economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators.
History of India: The questions will broadly cover the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. This shall also include the areas of growth of nationalism and freedom movement.
Indian and World Geography: The questions shall cover the physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.

UPSC CAPF 2023 – Paper II: (Total questions – 7; Total Marks – 200; Duration – 3 Hours)

General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension
Part-A – Essay questions which are to be answered in the long narrative form either in Hindi or English totaling 80 Marks. The indicative topics are related to Indian Politics and Economy, modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, social security, and human rights issues and analytical ability.
Part-B – Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing arguments, basic grammar and vocabulary.
